Panama City Day 1

We all had a great time in Panama City!  We had some issues with our resort (as in, they somehow put us at the wrong one--on the Bay side) but other than that, it was fine.  Oh well.  The kids had fun, even if it wasn't as convenient as we'd hoped.  Emma was a champ and watched Tessa in the room a lot (since she got burned on the first day!)

I took WAY too many photos this first day at the beach, and then only took photos like one other day.  And not many then!  Oh well.  On this first day, we all came.  Tessa, Emma, Whit, Brian, me, and all three big kids.  Here are Whit and the big three--fun in the sand.
Brian and Tessa hung out on the mat Whit got.
 Loving Tessa's face here.
Eli had a great time hunting for crabs.  They were all over!
Eli stood patiently by his name after Nana (Emma) drew it.
Whit patiently built lots of sandcastles.
Here's Whit and I standing in front of the word Whidget.  You can't see it all that well because the waves kept washing it off.  It's hard to get your name on there and a photo and also watch the kids, even with two other adults!

Emmy did NOT get the name thing and would NOT stand still at all.  I thought this was funny anyway.
Dora liked the crabs, too.  Eventually. At first they scared her, but she warmed up to them.
Incidentally, Dora calls this her bikini.  We don't wear bikinis, but she's heard the name somewhere and insists on calling it a bikini, not a tankini.  HA!

Hey, look, I'm in a few more!

LOVE this one of Dora jumping on her name.  That kid cracks me up!
 Sandcastles!!!
Emmy wanted to add a crab to his "house".
 See?
 The boys buried Dora.

 Eli being cute...
 Decor around the Dora head.
Emmy wanted to be like big sister.  She's not as patient, though.
LOVE this little baby so much!

Uncle Brian was great with the kiddos.
EWWWW!!!  Whit's braver than me.  (Although I did tuck a shell in my swimsuit next to my chest for Eli and realize later after being poked a lot that it had a crab inside and it kept trying to get out.)  GROSS!
Tessa had a hard time with the sand but she was pretty good for a baby on a beach.
She did great in her carseat with toys.
All the crew checking out the fish.  I was surprised how many fish swam in such shallow water.

Poor Whit.  He got stuck doing this A LOT.  It might not look exhausting, but it was.  He's s super man.  And a SUPER DUPER dad.
Not sure why this one's turned.  Oh well, it's still cool.  Whit found this little crab.  A side stepper, not one of the hermit ones.  This one is dead.  That's why he's holding it like that.  We spent the next few days trying to catch a live one.  Finally on our second to last day at the beach he caught a live one.  I got photos of that on my iphone.  I'll have to blog those later.
 WHAT A HOT GUY!!!
 Emmy being cute.
