Marble Arch Caves and the Claregalway Friary Day 5

We stayed at this place called Marble Arches hotel or something that we just found randomly.  We also just found this random little restaurant.  I am glad I snapped some photos because a tavern or pub was pretty much where we ate every night.  They all had pretty good food and from what we can tell, it's like the chili's or TGI Friday's of Ireland.  Haha.  Whit had mutton and Brian had.. ? Something steaming!  I always at Brian's fries.  :-)

I wanted a shot of this so you could see kind of what the places we ate at always looked like.  They pretty much all looked like this.
The hotel we stayed at had this restaurant that had things written all over it in marker.  We took a few shots of a few of them.  Kinda funny.

We stopped randomly to see the Marble Arch Caves.  There's this network of caves in Ireland in the area called the Burren.  Some of them are even catacombs (creepy).  This is part of the Burren.  The tour was really neat!!

Here's a depiction of the caves.  They would have been spooky to discover because you have to take a boat ride in an underground river to get to most of them.

 Going down!
 On the boat.
 See the river??

I thought this part was neat--they called it the "bacon".  LOL.  Looks just like bacon!
 Big formations!

This one is the married couple (on the left) and the engaged couple (on the right).  The married couple is a stalagtite and stalagmite that met and grew together.  The engaged couple is on track to the do same... in like 300 years.  haha.
This one is called speedy gonzales because the water is dripping from it so fast so it's growing like an inch a year.  Whit's got his hand in the pour off water!  Neato!
Here's the sign from the front.

So many fun adventures...Brian's meal looks the best there. Great pictures documenting all the explorations.
