"Close" Park

There is a park right by my parents' house and I called it the "Close Park" when talking to my mom. Eli is a little sponge lately and he picks up literally everything anyone says. He says "Sweet Dreams" now at night because my mom said it once. My mom honked and Eli said, "Get out of the road." I looked at my mom, and she said, "I said that to someone yesterday after honking!" It's really funny.

Anyhow, now he asks to go to the "Close Park" almost every day. It's a fun park, and we've enjoyed going. Once I actually remembered to bring my camera!

The kids both love all the slides.

Here they are being happy together...

They also love these little riding horse things.

They also both love the swings...Luckily I can push both at the same time.

Also, accross a little field there's a Taqueria and we walked over and bought some breakfast tacos. Eli was pretty excited. Egads my kids look white in these photos!

Gymnastics

Linsey takes Hayley to gymnastics every Monday morning and so a few weeks ago I took Eli and he loves it. Dora really likes it, too.

His favorite is the trampoline and the "mountain" at the end.

He and Hayley are in the same class.

Dora and Colin just run around getting into things during the classes.

Eli took to the rock wall like a fish to water. He races up it now.

He also really likes the fireman's pole.

Dora loves to hang onto things. She had a great time swinging from the rings.

Afterwards Linsey and Hayley go get food at Chick fil A. The kids LOVED eating ice cream cones and making HUGE messes. Ick! I don't think we'll be asked back! Haha.

Disney on Ice

Eli and I went with Linsey, Hayley and their friend Madison to see Disney on Ice.

Hayley got a bit scared by Disney on Ice, but Eli loved it. He got a little confused whenever Mickey left--where did Mickey go?

Hayley came back in and sat on the back row, but I didn't realize that until Eli spotted them. He kept pointing and saying he wanted to move, but I didn't get it until almost the end.

Eli's a little unhappy here because Hayley got an "ice cream cone" or snow cone, but I didn't get him one!

Now one with Madison. She's really sweet and we had a great time talking to her.

Friends

If a Genie came and offered me a wish today, I know just what I would ask for--and it wouldn't be money, a house, a painless move, or any other cliche answer...

I would ask for my kids to be best friends--to always be nice and share and to love spending time with each other. We are a long way from that, but we made some progress this week.

A short aside first, though. My dad bought Eli a tee, which is great because we have been playing baseball every day lately! He played with it alone for a while (hooray!) and seems quite happy with it!

We are still doing the one arm hitting, but we are making progress!

Last night we had a break through! Eli and Dora sat and played together (in rocks, but what can you do!?) for like 30 minutes, laughing and sharing, joking and happy! It was a small miracle in the world of Bridget. :-)

Yay! Maybe time will grant my genie wish!

Bluebonnets

I know I am biased, but dang I have cute kids. We shot a few bluebonnet photos before they went totally to seed... Getting two kids under 3 to smile at the same time was really hard!

I know she doesn't look "pretty" here, but I thought this face was really funny! You'd have been making the same one if you saw what my mom was doing to try and make her smile.

Now that she can walk, she doesn't want to sit down...ever.

I thought I could bounce her to make her laugh... no luck. Please pretend I am not in the photos. I am not wearing cute clothes, and I have no makeup on!

If you can't tell, that's a ladybug--we found one on a bluebonnet and it was really fascinating.
Until it got on her hand. Then she flung it off!

You're probably wondering how we got them to both smile--well, that would be my mom. She did this hilarious chicken/crazy dance and it was so funny we were all laughing. You rock, Lerdleluh! We love you!

Toddler Time at the Library

Wow Linsey is a super-mom. She has all these activities she does with her kids every week--Gymnastics on Monday, Library on Wednesday... We have been tagging along. Up next? Disney on ice tomorrow, though that's not a recurring event. Haha. Here's a cute shot of Eli and Linsey at the Toddler time at the library. He was mad at me for holding Dora (who wouldn't vacate my lap) so he went and sat with Aunt Linsey. Luckily Colin was sleeping and Hayley wasn't mad...

We made Hippo Hats after the activity and Eli wore his everywhere. He loved his!

Dora was there, and good as usual. She has been showing a little temper, lately though. She tried to bite me today when I took the phone from her and she has hit me twice!! Yikes!

Hayley made a cute hat, too! Also, can I just say I would totally wear Hayley's shirt myself!?

Cousins playing!

We went to Panera afterwards--yum!

Trip to Galveston

We have been so busy, and I have not been good at blogging. Eli had his first gymnastics class ever with Hayley on Monday. I took the camera, but held onto Dora most of the time and didn't get any shots. We signed up for a month of classes, though, so I will try to do better next week.

We went to Galveston on a lark on Tuesday to see Cassidy and her cute kiddos. Sadly, Bo was working all day, but we had a fun time. We got some great donuts on the way up there, which Eli is still asking for. We played at Cassidy's all day and then went to MacDonald's for dinner. The one Cassidy suggested had a play place, which all the kids loved.

This shot is to show you how far Eli fell... See the purple ridge over his head? In the process of learning to climb these, he was hanging on that one like he's on that one below and he slid off, and skipped the one he is on in this photo to land on the one below on his backside. He told my mom "Eli fall and break Eli bum!" when we got home. Pretty close, Eli, pretty close. He had a big bruise!

Here's Megan--SO CUTE! I really wanted to steal her and bring her home with me, but I think Cassidy sensed it and watched her like a hawk to keep me from nabbing her. :-) Her hair is LITERALLY angelic! And those cheeks just SCREAM "Squeeze Me".

Here's Carter! He's so big! I still remember him as a chubby baby who lived with me for a few months!!

You can tell the kids had a ball with the slides. We were the only ones in there--at 5:30 pm!

Dora LOVED climbing up the slide.

I liked these shots, so you get to see two..

Cassidy and her little angel...

I loved this--and there's one of Meg, too.

Love that hair!

CHEEKS!

Here's one of all the kids. Sad that we couldn't keep them still for a group shot, but we will count this!

I wish I had gotten the camera out before we went to MacDonald's, but better luck next time!

Megan commandeered Eli's apples and caramel dip. She loved it!

We had a great time, Cass! We will have to come back down soon! Maybe it will be warm enough to go to the beach!
