Rome Revisited Day 1

We really hit a lot of sights on our first day in Rome.  Not as many as our second day, but still a lot!  Here we are at Piazza Navona.  Bernini formed the fountains, and they are really cool.  Weird maybe, but cool.  It used to be for chariot races, but now it is always crawling with people.  We went to a handful of churches off the piazza.  They were pretty!

Then we walked to the Pantheon and it was SO COOL!

Amazing dome and they let Raphael drill into it to see how the Romans made it.  Such an awe inspiring building!
Here we are at Piazza de Popolo.  One pope built the first one and then the next pope or one later wanted one too, so he built the second, practically a mirror image.  Cool piazza though!
This was in the Piazza de popolo.

Then we walked to the Treve fountain and it was closed for renovations.  Then we walked to the Angel bridge.  WAHOO! loved the views on the way.

I really liked the angel bridge.  Supposed to be the 12 apostles to Jesus.  (Obviously turned into angels.)

Then I couldn't stop taking photos with back lighting. Here's the Vatican on our way back.

Oh man the food.  I miss that food.

Yes.  We had dessert.  Then picked up pastries to eat at our second pass of the Pantheon and the Piazza Navona.  Then got gelato on the way home. Basically we ate.  Nonstop.
