We had the neat opportunity to go with Brooke and Brian to Vienna, Budapest and Prague. It was great fun! We spent two days in Vienna, and then two more in Budapest, and then three in Prague.
Here we are in Vienna. We got a little turned around, but it turns out, here by the library they make a really great (and super long) vienna sausage looking hotdog thing. Brooke and I were delighted to pass on that and get something else. But those Austrians sure know how to build a nice building...
This was a big change from Rome, where almost no statues have clothing!!We ate here by the gardens...
We got to go to the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, as well as an opera/ballet/symphony. It was a lot of fun! They have some off graffitti there... bananas??
Here we are in the square in front of the Spanish Riding School.
And our hotel was right next to the Schonbrunn palace. I thought they said Champagne palace. I kept calling it that and everyone thought it was a some kind of special name only I knew... until I saw it in writing and realized it was a mispronunciation of mine... Whoops.
It is a gorgeous palace, though.
Here we are in budapest. Now it could have been because we were in the car for a long time, but the dinner in Budapest that first night was AMAZING!!
Then the next day, poor Whit got sick. He was a trooper and still got out and toured around in between bouts of puking. Poor big strong man!
The bridges over the Danube in Budapest were stunning. What a gorgeous city!!!
Yes, I could have been the model for that particular statue.
The tiled rooftops in Budapest were so unique and beautiful! it really was such a lovely city!
On this day, we started out in lots of clothing. Leggings, jacket, boots, and so on. Then as the day wore on, it grew hot and I pulled off the leggings, and jacket, etc. Layers are essential in Budapest!
Here's their fanciest government building.
My hot, strong man. I don't know how I got so lucky. I love this man so much! He looks good with a beard, right!?!
The flowers were so pretty!
Here I just jumped in (their parliament equivalent was in session) and the people were shocked, but just laughed at the dumb American!! Haha.
On the same night he was feeling crappy, I forgot my sunglasses in our room before our river cruise, and my sick hubby ran back to get them. Did I mention he's hot!?
Beautiful bridge!
Oh and did I mention my hot husband!? How I love him.
Here we are on our long tour in Prague. We had the oldest tour guide of all time. We really thought she might die at any time, and she spoke REALLY quiet, but we still had a good time.
Here's the famous clock in the town square there. The "astronomical clock."
We found a cool candy store, and a great street market I didn't get a photo of... darn it.
Cool shot near the lock bridge.
This was this little hidden church. Pretty, right?
My delightful hubby!
I cannot get enough of this guy.
If you haven't been there, go see Prague.
