The girls had been acting pretty cute. So their dad offered to take them to the beach. I was still feeling sick, and tired, but I didn't want to get left out. So I went along.
Oh and a random shot from family dinner of Grandma with two baby girls. We ended up leaving Megan and baby Emmy at home and taking just the big two. HOLY MOLY, it made such a difference. Without Emmy it was so fun! And relaxing! I never want to take a baby to the beach again. Big kids only!! Haha. Also we got a $40 umbrella from Kroger and it was worth every single cent.
Here's the one shot I was actually in. I'm so far away you can't even tell I look like a whale.
Kids and dad sunscreening in the shade.
Happy Eli...
Loving Dora's poses in the water.
They played a lot in the sand. That icky stuff is seaweed. Gross. Eli was shocked that some people eat it. (We did explain it's not the same stuff.)
You may not be able to tell but there were thousands of little tiny oysters in the sand! When the water would rush over and make it mushy you could scoop up a whole handful of the little pea sized guys. They'd just sit in your hand but once near the sand again they'd burrow immediately. Cute!
Can you see them?? You're looking at their butts. Haha.
Whit is an expert kid burier. Dora's future boyfriends should be worried.
Eli went first.
Then Dora.
See how Whit's holding Dora. He spent like an hour flipping her over his shoulder every time a big wave came. She wanted to be out there, but not get soaked. Weirdo.
Poor tired Whit! :-) He never complained.
LOVING the waves. They'd have stayed all day.
I got these 99 cent pinwheels the kids loved. Kinda fun.
Love love love that they get along so well now (well, most of the time.)
At Dora's (not so polite) request, we went to Rainforest Cafe for lunch. The kids got frog Icees.
And one random shot from right before church the next Sunday. Look at Whit's red face!

Looks like a pretty perfect beach trip!
Love the gentleness of those waves. CA is beautiful in a more rugged and cliff type of fashion. Plenty of sand too, just not flat.
We might need a beach house after all! Seems we have some beach lovin' kids!
