Snoqualmie Falls

We went to Snoqualmie Falls while we were in Seattle. It was great fun. It's always a little misty there, by the waterfall.

You can tell Dora is excited--look mom, both feet off the ground!

Pretty!

Eli obviously had a lot of fun, too.

Then we played all around the falls and in the town they had a Train and Big Tree, too.

Trip to Seattle Part I

We went to Seattle a while back now (a little over a week!) I have been totally busy on various projects since then. One of them was reading way too many books in a series Christina turned me on to, but some of it has been working in our yard, etc. Plus, I started a new part time job here...

Anyhow, I am finally going through some of the photos. Here are a few from playing in Ivin and Christina's racquetball court...

Dora wants to be a dancer or a gymnast, not sure which.

Gymnast. Definitely gymnast. Ahhh!

Build a Bear

Last week, on Monday (before we left for Seattle) we went to Build a Bear in Medford (and Gymboree--priorities, people!) Eli was pretty excited.

He and Dora both picked out Dragons--I loved the one with the purple stomach (which Dora got) but Eli said it was too girly--and pretty, so he got this manly orange and green one. HA.

Here he is pushing the stuffing machine with his foot.

Yes, I was there too.
We had a fun time, can you tell?

Dr. Appt Stats

I almost forgot to post this--we had a joint Dr. Appt for the two kids Friday morning. Dora had four shots and Eli had two, which was not very popular, but hooray they are over it finally.

Eli is 40.5 inches and weighs 39 pounds. That puts him in the 92 and 95 percentiles respectively. (So about normal for him. He's always been big).

Dora is 25 pounds even and almost 36 inches--she's TALL. She was way off the charts for height. That put her in the 85% for weight, but the doc says she's about 50% based on her height. SO, she's super tall but not too hefty for her size, which I think you can tell from looking at her.

They both scored top marks on all the diagnostic questions for kids their age, so...so far, so good.

Weekend of Playing

We had a fun weekend with Dad home. It feels like he hasn't had a weekend off in forever! We just hung around the house and played! Here are a few shots I thought to grab the camera and take. The kids have been getting a LOT of horsey back rides. Once dad actually gave them BOTH a ride at the same time.

So fun!
Here is Dora with her three favorite animals again! She is obsessed with these three guys! (Or four--sometimes the horsey's baby gets included in the mix.)

Angela's blog gave us some ideas for new things to do in terms of acrobatics. We already had boom boom flip (which I won't try to explain) and Dora/Eli Basket and so on, but here's the incredible flying kiddos! Dora picked this up RIGHT away. I did it with her for a while, and then it was daddy's turn. I grabbed the camera then...

Eli is never one to be outdone by his sister (except did I mention Dora pooed and peed in the potty yesterday!? So maybe in potty training she will outdo him!)

She found this old hat and insisted on wearing it. I wouldn't have gotten ANOTHER photo of her with her animal posse except I thought it was funny she was using the sheep as an ottoman.

Awww, after a day of fun, they watched a movie together. They always share the couch (lately) and it makes me so happy!

I almost forgot to mention that Eli insisted on wearing his cowboy hat because he was watching a "cowboy" movie that Dora picked (Spirit--its about a horse.)

30th Birthday

I had a wonderful birthday!! I had lots of gifts, all day to spend with family, and several friends who brought me things! Thanks Jenny for the amazing oatmeal cake! Whit and the kids were so sweet all day, with Dora giving me special hugs she is usually stingy with.

Eli helped me open all my presents!

He and Dora were as excited as I was by the new ice-cream maker (thanks mom and dad) and the candy (thanks honey). Haha.

All in all, 30 feels pretty much like 29! Plus, I sort of hijacked a friend's barbecue and had a party there. They even sang to me and cut a cake! It was a great birthday and Whit and I finished the day going on a date! Hooray!

Rub a Dub Dub

Two cuties in a tub! The kids wanted bubbles last week so I thought it would look cute to snap a few photos. They are starting to play together (although they still fight a lot) and I am so happy! They loved the bubbles.

I just love to see them happy!
