Happy Easter!

Today I put some of Dora's new 3-6 month clothes on her. They are still a bit large, but CUTE! I couldn't help myself--I snapped a few photos, and then a few more!! Of course, my mom bought her this outfit at the Gymboree outlet, even though it wasn't on sale because I loved the print! Also, the purple bow is from my mom, too. (No surprise there!) Oh and her eye is red because her busy little hand scratched it... I waited a few minutes and the color didn't go away, so I went ahead and did the photos anyway.

Here's one with her matching bib on... The socks she has on are 0-3 months and still WAY too big--she has these tiny, dainty feet and hands!

And while I was taking photos, Eli felt left out and everytime I tried to get Dora to smile (unsuccessfully) he would laugh and fake smile behind me. I took a few of his fake smiles, too.

And here's Eli decorating his first Easter egg--many more to come! He made a mess, but sure had fun! He can say Egg now, too. He saw me decorating them first and I made him say "egg" before I would let him decorate one!

Here is the beautiful finished product...

Happy Easter to all of you!! We are doing an egg hunt tomorrow am, so more photos then! Plus, photos of the kids in Easter Sunday dress!!

Growing up

Today I watched Eli walk straight up the stairs, without having to hold on to anything and I just started to cry! My little boy is growing up and it breaks my heart! I don't like the newborn stage much, but I LOVE the toddler stage Eli is at now! He came back down the stairs in a second when he saw me crying and while he came back down he blew me kisses and said "I love you" (Which admittedly sounds more like AH wah wuh) but it's how he says it!

How can parents handle losing their babies!?

Dora's Two Month Stats

Today was Dora's two month checkup, even though she won't be 8 weeks until Monday and won't be two months for another week. She was off the charts! She went from the 70th percentile in everything to much higher!

Height-24.25" (This is over the 97th %--unlike Eli she has long legs...)
Weight-12lbs 15 oz (96%--Not OFF the chart here, but WAY bigger. She likes to eat)
Head size- 40.7 cm (91%--our girl has big brains!)

Too Much Bones...

Our friend Brian Moss turned us on to this show, Bones. It is about a forensic expert who uses bones to solve murder cases. We started watching it a few weeks ago and are already watching Season 3... What can I say? When you have a newborn you have a lot of time you have to be awake, but your mind isn't really occupied even though your hands are... I watch a lot of TV and read a lot of books!

The trash collectors come by our townhomes about twice a day--or so Whitney and I joke. It seems like they are constantly here picking up trash, although sometimes it's the recycling people. Anyhow, today they came by and instead of just picking up the trash and leaving, the truck stopped. Whitney noticed that the police showed up too. Now that piqued my curiosity!

Of course, I took Eli for a "walk" and poked my nose in... sort of like rubber necking with an accident. I was just sure that the trash people had found a body or something in the trash around the corner from our house!!

Apparently I have been watching too much Bones. The police and the trash people got a good laugh--what happened was some old guy backed out into the trash truck and they police were called in to get statements and make sure the guy's insurance would cover the trash truck repairs. BORING!! Ah well...

Now on to the things my mom wants to see/hear. She sent me a package today, and included in it was a new toy for Eli. Oh man, did he love it. Now let's be fair--there were actually several new toys, and technically this toy was for Whitney. Apparently his grandma used to have this toy and he commented on it. My mom tracked it down to give him as a congratulatory gift for being made the new Chief Resident for next year. (Well, that and Bones Season III! Yeah, I know, see above.)

Anyhow, here's a photo and a short video so you can see how cool the toy is... It's also featured on one of the Baby Einsteins. Baby Mozart, I think.

While my mom was here, she also bought Eli some crayons. Smartly, she bought the "washable kind". Now this is NOT an advertisement, but... I was busy in the office today with the baby, and Eli played for like 30 minutes happily in the other room by himself. I though, wow, a miracle!!

I figured out the miracle when I left the office. He had been coloring on everything in sight with a purple crayon. I mean, glass, the fridge, the dishwasher, the TV, the coffee table, and so on. You get the picture. True to its pledge, it all came off with just a damp rag! It's magic! The only thing I couldn't get it off of was the white leather chair. Darn it! That chair has been through the wringer since Eli's birth. I think the chair is losing the war, too. Anyhow, I am including one photo--of the dishwasher art! I hope this is not something he repeats! Thanks heavens for washable crayons!

One last thing. Since having kiddo #2, I have had more stressed out moments. I have times when I feel that all I do is laundry, make food for the kids, clean up the messes and desperately try to sleep. When I get too frazzled from the crying or the cleaning, I have found one thing that always makes me happy! I go up to Dora's room and pull out her clothes--currently 3-6 months (the next size up--so when she was in newborn, I looked at 0-3, but now I look at 3-6 since she's in 0-3...) I look at her cute little clothes, and I feel better! It makes me happy--don't ask me why! I know I have had a long week this week because I have looked at those clothes at least once every single day!

Today was hard--you can see what I did with the clothes! I laid them all out so I could see them all at once. I am not including all the photos--I had lots of dresses on the chair, more outfits on the footrest of the chair and tons of sleepers and stuff in a bag (that aren't quite as cute, so I didn't lay them out!) Now, some of these clothes were given to me by Angela or Linsey, and a few things I bought... But I must admit that the VAST majority came from my mom. Yes, I know I am truly spoiled. Thanks mom! You raised a spoiled brat! (Looks like I am on track to do the same!)

Isadora Smiles

Dora has been smiling for a while now, but it's hard to know when she will smile at you. This morning, she was all smiles and when I talked to her, she would REALLY smile. I will throw in one photo from yesterday at the beginning though, since I thought her little yellow and orange outfit was cute. After I got a few cute smiles, I realized she was wearing a bib! Whoops. So, some have her in a bib and some don't. She is SUCH a happy baby--we are really lucky to have such a little darling. She makes her mom SO happy!

I just looked over the blog and realized some of these photos pretty much look the same. OH WELL--I am putting them all in anyway because she is so darn cute.

Sunglasses and naptime...

Eli always needs his crib to sleep. Always. He has NEVER slept in bed with Whit and I, and it has never worked to get him to go back to sleep, either.

I also finally got him on a regular nap schedule a few months ago--he almost always goes down at 1 pm.

Imagine my surprise today at 12 when a whiny guy collapses on the floor with his blanket and I find this!! (By the by, that's the nasty blanket that he LOVES and I cannot seem to replace with anything else, no matter how nice.)

In case this wasn't clear--he went to sleep on the floor after a bout of crying! He slept there for two hours!! So odd, but I guess he was really exhausted.
Also Whit got this photo this am... Eli loves my sunglasses!!

I snapped this photo on a walk yesterday. Eli is definitely a boy. He loves to play in dirt and muck. He noticed this little hole in these green covers (for our internet) that collect sludge and had to dig his little fingers into it! (Please note his cute new sneakers!)
I love that now, jealous of Isadora taking all the attention, Eli climbs up on my lap all the time. He never used to sit on my lap for more than a minute since he's not much into the snuggling. Isn't it cute!? This was after his nap this afternoon. (As a side note, I was just thinking, "Hey I don't look that fat..." Then I saw this photo. Photos don't lie like mirrors do.. DEPRESSING!)

And not to be left out, I finally caught the end of one of Dora's smiles!! She isn't wearing a bow and is just in a random sleeper, but I am posting it anyway!
