Hangin' Around

Eli and Dora love their dad--Oh, how they love their dad. He plays and plays and plays. I can see why they love him so much. I thought to grab the camera last week and got one small shot of him playing. He and Eli have this new game called pillow throw--think duck hunt but with Eli running back and forth and Whit lobbing pillows at him as he runs past at top speed. It's really funny! You'd think Eli would hate getting beaned but he begs for it. Whit obliges. I really need to get a video. This tiny guy's grin is so funny!!

He is such a ham. I should also mention he can write most any letter now (knows them all, big and small and the sounds they make) and we've begun trying to read easy books. He is VORACIOUS in his appetite for knowledge, limited only by his own mother's exhaustion in dealing with such a little sponge brain! :-)

Dora gets cuter every day--and I don't think it's just because I'm her mom. She does things that are just so cute. She crawled up on the table the other day and was posing for me. So I grabbed the camera and took a few shots. Too bad I'm a terrible photographer.

Eli and Dora are getting along better every day--HOORAY!! This was just a random time when they were playing and the camera was on hand.

Dora's eyes are just SO blue! I mean, Eli's are too, but not that blinding blue of Dora's.

Awww, hugs. Eli is such a good sport to put up with her pouncing on him and hugging him.

The other day I decided to make a peach pie. Pretty, no? It was SO good, too! I was taking it over to a friend's the next morning and heard it shifting in the back. I stopped to get the mail and opened the back to make sure it wasn't leaking and it fell (with only two pieces missing) onto the ground, shattering. SO SAD!

Both My Babies

I still call Eli and Dora my babies and it bothers them both to no end--"we're not babies, mom, we're big kids." Eli will correct me even if I call Dora a baby--she's a big girl mom, not a baby anymore. BUT what they don't know is that they will ALWAYS be my babies. The chubby baby cheeks they both still have just vindicate me calling them that now... Plus they can still both sit on my lap, so for now I rest my case.

I digress. Thankfully Steph took some shots of the two of them together. They still fight, mind you, but they are getting along better every day. It's so cute to see them loving each other. It makes me SO HAPPY!

It should be mentioned that if I want Dora to smile, I ask Eli to laugh. When he laughs for any reason so does she, and hers is real. She really is just happy when he's happy. SO CUTE.

I love this one!

Dora at Two

My friend Stephanie did these photos of Dora too, just before her second birthday. She's such a precocious little imp. I love this little girl so much. Again, I included far more photos than most anyone else will want to see, but I wanted them preserved in the blog book. So many of these are faces she makes all the time!

She has lots of hair now!

I love this little grin.

And she still has chubby baby cheeks!

This is the face she makes if you tell her to smile! AH!!

Eating a cupcake...

Yum!
Happy Second Birthday Dora, we love you so!

Eli at three and a half

I meant to get photos of the kids each year around their birthdays. I have done pretty well with Dora but not with poor Eli. We were just moving this year around his 3 year birthday and I didn't know any photographers! We did get some in May before his birthday, but it was the whole family. (Linsey, my sister in law did them.)

Anyhow, I arranged to have some done of Dora for her 2 year birthday and asked for photos of Eli too. Eli, sorry these aren't at 3, but they are at 3 and a half and that should count for something. You sure are cute.

I put in WAY too many photos, I'm sure but I wanted them saved in my blog book. Especially these at the beginning look really similar but I liked them all! Thanks Stephanie--you did a great job.

I love this--it's his sweet face!

Fake smile, but I love the hands in pockets!

HA he makes this face a lot, usually when he's trying to be cute!

Eli, we love you SO MUCH Sir!!
